Michelle’s Profile

MMichelle Morelos first gained recognition in online photography communities in 2004, way before the dawn of camera phones and social media, for the eye-catching and vivid photos that she showcased in her old site back then. Her images were a testament that one didn’t need an expensive DSLR camera to produce outstanding images as she did capturing photos that ranged from street rallies and colorful festivals, to high-end resorts and hotels which appeared in magazines using just a simple point and shoot camera. In 2005, Michelle was featured in a full-page cover spread  for a special supplement on photography published in The Manila Bulletin, one of the Philippines’ major premier broadsheets.

Michelle is a Communications graduate from St. Paul University and holds a Master’s Degree in Environmental Management from the Ateneo de Manila University and the University of San Francisco, USA. A passionate environmentalist, most of her photos are, in fact, influenced by her love for nature. Aside from organizing and teaching basic photography classes and leading various travel photography workshops (1, 2, 3) , Michelle was also a college instructor for environmental and photography subjects at the De La Salle College of St. Benilde – School of Design and Arts in Manila from 2007-2013.

In 2013, Michelle moved to Vancouver, Canada and was featured in 2015 as one of  Vancouver’s Top Baby and Family Photographers by Vancouvermom.ca. In 2017, she established Studio Mimo, a beautiful natural-light portrait studio offering maternity, newborn, baby and family portrait sessions in the Philippines.

As of 2023, Michelle resides in the beautiful city of Vancouver with her sweet poodle, Blingbling.
